Thread: Hose Size
11/11/2022 16:51:48

I have an Oxy-Propane torch and was wondering if there is a correct hose size for it, my local supplier list two sizes 6mm and 10mm the 6mm states only Oxygen or Acetylene whilst the 10mm includes Propane, Oxygen and Acetylene.

Thread: Tank less Compressor
12/01/2022 18:03:13

So the question on the engine is that its one my grandfather made ( Many years ago) I believe its similiar to a Stuart 10V, the fact is that my late uncle was going to try and make them from something clear as an executive toy means its in bits and needs to be re assembled but I will need something to run it. I noticed another thread that someone used the steam cleaner !!

Your thoughts Gentlemen.

11/01/2022 17:05:36

So I have been watching some You tube videos that show people testing model steam engines using compressed air, I have found one called a "Clarke Jumbo Compressor" which seem to not have any resevior / tank. Would this be able to power the engines or do I need a certain PSI to run the engines?

So at present I have a consumer unit in my workshop / garage but it is in the totally wrong location and also needs updating. I have a quick question if I move it can I just run some temporary cable from the new unit to a junction box connecting to the current wiring whilst I sort out some other issues, I need power as there is a fridge freezer that need to stay plugged in ?

Thread: Axminster SX2
14/10/2020 21:23:01

So I have installed the SX2 into my workshop and tried it

and it appears to work ! However seems a bit sluggish to

work. Is that as it should be? If not any suggestions ??

13/10/2020 12:29:44

So stupid question but the system has 3 fuses, 1 in mains plug, 1 in control box and one on the PCB surely they are there to protect the system ?? I think the one in my control box has blown so off latter to get a couple more. I will need to strip out to find other fuse size ?

12/10/2020 09:13:01

What does the addition fuse is the control box cover ? Does anyone know.

11/10/2020 21:39:31

So I collected the mill. The issue was or is the speed controller ? He has purchased a new

one with same result ? Could it be an iffy one ? Also trying to find out where he purchased

the new one should not make a difference but who knows ?
Any other ideas would be welcome !

09/10/2020 11:52:11

What is the DIN type connector for ?

09/10/2020 09:26:54

Yes it was the one but as nearly 4 figure price new I thought I would risk it even with a new PCB it will be about half price, Fingers crossed not PCB

09/10/2020 08:57:01

So foolishly I have purchased a SX2 Mill supposedly with electrical issues? Can anyone tell me where and how I get to the extra fuse that is shown on the wiring diagram in the manual. Its shown as a 5amp it looks like it goes into the control box ?
