Where to get a part made?

Please can someone tell me where I can get this made - A 45x45x45mm solid cube of steel with 20mm deep M6 threaded holes in the middle of each face. So that's 6 holes in total. The holes can be a bit deeper and even go all the way through. I can even supply a bar of steel 45x45x100mm if absolutely necessary.
I thought this would be really simple to get made but 2 companies in my home seemed completely uninterested and treated my request as annoyance. I then contacted some online companies but most just ignore me or replied once but didn't really seem interested either. It's not as if I am expecting to get it done cheaply. I just want to pay the going rate and get it done. This has now been dragging on for months.

Hello Tony,

That's a pretty simple part, depending on how accurately it needs to be made and how well you need it finished.

If it's just a case of sawing to length, facing off the sawn surface, drilling and tapping the holes its shouldn't more than an hour even with a good level of care in setting up.

If you give your location, I'm sure someone close to you will be able to assist.

That's an apprentice filing exercise, hacksaw, file, then marking out and drilling.

If you supply the bar and it is 45mm square to start with then the finished item will actually turn out, pun not intended, to be less than 45mm square.

I know that I am stating the obvious but it was just a thought.

Thanks. The finish is unimportant since it will not be seen or touching anything. The supplier of the bar has now told me he can provide 45mm lengths so I'll order some and contact you when it arrives.
I have had such a negative response to this request elsewhere I hope I have explained it correctly. People seemed to think tapping to that depth is not easy. Maybe I have been approaching the wrong companies.
Thanks also to the other people who have replied.

Tony,

Your experience does not surprise me. Many moons ago I needed to get some simple drill bushes made, and I got exactly the same response [I posted a post about this some time ago ]. I was told,in as many words to just "Piss off".

Your best bet is to find some small guy locally, who would be able, and willing to oblige. Believe me,there is one out there somewhere.

This is not a difficult job,so any small shop would be well able to do it

Hell, even I could do it !!devil

I'd like to give a massive public thanks to Ian for making the part. The reaction to my post has been amazing and I think you have a very special forum here.
