Moore and Wright 2-12" inside mic handle thread

857 forum posts 45 photos	I'm looking for information... I've managed to loose the handle from my Moore and Wright 2-12" inside mic,(I say I lost, but it came back from a borrowing!). Could some tell me what the thread is? Dia and tpi would do. Thank you Jim

2947 forum posts 468 photos	Imperial mics are usually 40 tpi. One rotation of the thimble gives a .025" linear movement, hence the barrel marked in .025" incremens. George.

2312 forum posts 112 photos	Jim, I'm assuming that you mean the thread on the rod that is used to hold the mic in a bore whilst measuring it. If so, it is 6BA. Brian

7061 forum posts 719 photos	Err, OP said the handle, not the micrometer. The thread on my M&W internal mic handle measures 0.127" OD, which points to 5BA, nominally 0.126" OD. Andrew
