Hello all, could anyone who has fitted one of these offer me any help.
My warco feed unit turned up today, the instructions are not very clear, i will speak to Warco tomorrow but wanted some basic info first.

They have supplied a new end bearing plate ( on the right ) i thought i maybe have to replace the current plate ( one on the left ) with this one as this is the correct size to fit within the grey mounting plate, but there is no thrust bearing for the drive gear to pull up against, have they supplied the wrong plate ?

Thanks for any help.

Morning.

Spoken to Warco but there not able to offer me any assistance..

As it stands i can modify the existing plate ( Cut the ends off ) and it should work ok, interested if anyone else had the same problem.

Thanks.

FWIW, I can only suggest that you are s'posed to use the existing bearings, or, looking at the housing size you may have to buy bearings to suit. I'm surprised that Warco didn't offer any assistance. I made my own power feed arrangement so retained the original end plate & bearing.

George.

Thanks for the reply.

Warco have been fine, i think the problem is they have updated the machine and the power feed suits the new design not mine. They have said i can return the feed so might just do that.

Cheers.

They have said i can return the feed so might just do that.

At their cost, I would hope, if they have made modifications to their specific model and nobody from their end 'flagged it up' before sending you the wrong item.

Question is:what are they (or you) going to replace it with? Power feed is a great improvement for most of us (I certainly cannot get the same finish by traversing manually).

Thanks both for your reply's

I modified the end bearing plate ( 2 new dowels and cut about 10mm of each end ) and the feed fitted a treat, no problems.

Cheers.

Brian, would you be prepared to post a picture or 2 of the power feed in place. I have an older mill too and I've been looking at buying that power feed .

Thanks

Mark

Hello Mark, sorry for the delay, no shed time recently...

Couple of photos below.

I had to alter the original bearing bracket, just drilled a couple of extra dowels then cut about 10mm of each end.
The gear supplied in the kit just slid onto the leadscrew using the existing key, this then pulled up against the thrust bearing using a small turned nut supplied in the kit.
All you need to do then is clamp the feed onto the table and set the gap between the gears, there is a gap between the supplied clamp plate and the table, about 6mm which i need to fill at some point with a couple of small plates.

One point to note, when i asked warco for some photos of the assembly they sent a photo of one in their showroom, this had a completly differant gear setup, not sure where this came from but if they had sent this type it would have been no use, i can post this photo if i can find it.

Thanks.
