Try unplugging all devices from the phone socket, unscrew the face plate so you access the master socket. Get a cheap plug in corded phone, plug into the master socket and the dial 17070 , option 2. If you still have hum it's BTs problem. If the hum's gone it's one of your devices.

Tramping back to front I get 0.006" with no way to fix it as the head does not nod.

STK, to tram the head fore and aft, do a google for G0704 3 Bolt mod. You may fid that will help fine tune the head.

Thread: NewtonTesla systems
03/11/2017 20:23:07

I recently purchased the cl750 1hp Newton Tesla motor package for my Boxford. Excellent product, only let down by the poor customer service. My controller came labeled up as a cl400 and the motor was missing the key which was supposedly taped to the shaft, no sign of tape or key on mine. When queried the response was more or less "we ran out of the correct labels , so stuck the cl400 one on, and we might have some spare keys" It took nearly 3 weeks for them to send the key out, by which time I'd sourced another.

Thread: Warco WM18 Power Feed

Thanks Brian. Think I'll start saving my pennies for that

12/09/2017 21:18:44

Brian, would you be prepared to post a picture or 2 of the power feed in place. I have an older mill too and I've been looking at buying that power feed .

Thanks

Mark

Also, no car or bike engines share common oil with the gearbox;

Thread: Tee-slotted cross-slide query
26/07/2011 20:38:38
John,
apologies for not posting sooner, I haven't been out to my workshop for a while. The thickness of the warco slide is 30.5mm compared to 25.5 of the Axminster slide. The Tee slots are take 8mm bolts and are 11.5 mm deep. Hope this helps.

John,

your lathe looks the same as my Axminster BV20 that I currently have for sale. I will measure the cross slide up for you tomorrow night. My lathe originally came with a plain cross slide , but I bought a replacement from Warco as theirs have the tee slots in them. I had to take 5mm off the top of the top slide as the new cross slide is thicker to accommodate the tee slots.

edit.

You may also need the GhostScript program installed. If you are using windoze 7 it will complain about not installing properly but it has.

Thread: This months MEW are 3 CNC features two too many

I'm actually shocked that no one has bitched and twined about the picture of the car on the front cover and the article on page 34, I mean what ever next? Tractors on the cover of Model Engineer?

Note to the Ed, please don't stop the CNC articles. I don't have a CNC machine, and I may never have one but I find it interesting to read different methods to skin a cat.

Diane,
I think it's just Chrome, as Firefox doesn't complain.

I run Linux on a Virtual Machine so Malware isn't a great concern to me, it more the irritation of the warning on the site itself. Something the "web developers" provbably need to sort out.
