Anyone experience of the Titan 700w pillar drill on sale at Screwfix for just short of £170? My use would be strictly DIY. The 16 speeds range of 210/3040 makes it tempting along with the 2 year warrantee. Item no 17463

Hello Jimmie, I know its not the same thing, but I bought one of the Titan SDS Plus hammer drills, very well made piece of kit for the price. Fantastic for 60 odd quid.

According to the spec it would sit comfortably on a beer mat.

Please, if you are going to post a quote - don't include your additions within a supposed copy from mine. It is no longer a quote!smiley

Apart from that, what is your point? Advice was factual.

Don't accept all Screwfix specifications as being accurate. Item 1428G, pair of water pump pliers, weigh in at 375kg. Could some 'reader' please check if I should go to that well known provider of reading glasses.

Maybe they are for use at Dinorwig?

Um, indeed read the reviews especially the old ones, everything you need to know is there

Weighs 100lbs odd and 3foot high

For drilling metal - got to be NO due alloy castings and thin pillar things will bend, holes wont be 90 deg as the table deflects - needs to be iron and weigh 150lbs etc etc.

Wood only - fill your boots you'll want the height it offers not sure why it needs 16 speeds. when 5 would do.

I have seen the screwfix web site and yes it tell you lots of things like the size of the base etc but my question was addressed to someone who might own one what was the size of it's footprint the dimension I'm looking for is if you say pushed it back until it say touched the wall how far forward would it stick out ?

Among the Q & As is:

I have just bought this drill and the dimensions are:

290mm wide including the 3-bar plunger (320mm including the table crank handle)
995mm high
610mm deep (front to back)

The throat depth is 165mm (not 80mm as shown)

All those dimensions are on the screwfix webite reviews for that machine. Probably been there for some considerable time. Sometimes one cannot help by telling them exactly where to find the information.
