Hi All

I am currently making the whittaker firefly and need some en8m for the crankshaft and the bore liner, about 125 long x 30 diameter.

There is lots of of en8 on ebay but no en8m.

Is there any difference between them?

If yes can anyone tell me a supplier of en8m.

thanks geoff

Geoff,

Isn't EN8M the free-machining version?

Yes its the free cutting one. If you put the modern code into e-bay etc you will get what you are looking for 080A42

The £49.30 is not right, you may get the bar for less than that.

Where are you based ? I have a local steel stockholder who I can ask for a cost. I am in the Midlands. Chris.

Great result, you can buy me a drink....smiley....

I use that particular supplier quite a lot, they are very friendly bunch when you visit their premises, their workshop is something else.!!
