2011 forum posts | I bought a small chain grinder, about 25 pounds. Works better than expected, much quicker than a file. Modern chains seem to be harder than of old, or the files are softer. |

![]() 800 forum posts 16 photos | I use a dremel with small stones works well. I have the freedom to use the biggest stone that I can fit in as it changes the angle of the bevel it cuts. Cannot tell from professionally sharpened chains last a long time as the shops take about 1/3 of the tooth off each time, saves them time going around the second time because not enough taken off the first time. Also get to sell chains faster. |
