Hello Everyone.

I have booked a trip to the Weybridge exhibition in September.

Can you recommend any side visits after the weekend?

Would prefer Engineering/model related but tourist OK.

Thanks.

If you stay nearby it's not a big trip in to any of the London Museums by train/underground.

Brooklands is literally just across the road from Weybridge railway station, and is well worth visiting in its own right. Debs and I will be staying nearby, and Debs goes into London most days visiting the galleries, museums etc. whilst I do the exhibition. It is about 30 minutes into Waterloo station, by frequent trains. Hampton Court is about 5 miles away. Kew Bridge pumping station?

Now called the London Museum of Water and Steam - definitely worth a visit. One or other sets of engines is in steam most weekends

Don't forget your MEX exhibition ticket will give you access to the Brooklands Museum and the Bus Museum.

Ample value!

John,

I well remember being told how Henry VIII enjoyed showing Jane Seymour his huge Hampton Court in the evening sunlight.

There is also Mercedes Benz World opposite Brooklands which is free to enter. Brooklands is well worth a visit, I go five or six times a year.
