I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. First problem, I live in the states, so purchasing Silverflo 55 is a bit of a problem for me here. I have been looking at a couple weld supply shops in my area and I noticed that I can purchase Safety-Silv 56. From what I can see the specs look close to silverflo 55:

Safety-Silv 56
Cu - 22%
Zn - 17%
Sn - 5%
Ag - 56%

Silverflo 55
Cu - 21%
Zn - 22%
Sn - 2%
Ag - 55%

Might anyone one be able to look at these spec and advice me if they think solder will be good for use of soldering a boiler?

Thank you in advanced for your help.

They will be fine - just remember to get the correct grade of solder to suit the application (big job, long lasting but not so easy to work with, small job shorter life but flows much better - in my opinion).

"just remember to get the correct grade of solder "

I think that should read "correct grade of flux "

Safety-silv 56 is a Harris Group (USA) product, they make good fluxes as well.

55% - 56% silver - will both perform equally well for your application.

Get your joint design and heating technique right and, as ever, the joint will be stronger than the parent materials.

Both alloys are readily available in the USA.

Try also Handy & Harman.

I don't know if they will supply small quantities economically. If not try **LINK**
