Thread: 3.5" Mabel Drawings / Build information |
23/12/2020 18:58:11 |
Thank you all for the information. I noticed that Reeves had these listed. I was really looking for a second hand copy. I was hoping someone had it together with the writeups. Is it possible to just get the write up's on this subject from ME without getting the whole magazine? Has anyone purchased any plans from sarik hobbies? https://www.sarikhobbies.com/product/mabel-3-5-in-lo97/ I noticed they also had the plans listed as well also seem to be slightly cheaper then reeves. |

I have a part built Mabel loco that I am in the process of finishing. I purchased it in its current part build state and no information was included with it. I was wondering if anyone has any drawings digitally that I could possible have or purchase. Also any build articles. Thank you in advanced for the help. |

From the research I did for my royal scot, the only place I found the full set of 3.5" drawings is from GLR Kennions. Their price is £36.00, also they have some castings available for this loco as well. Please find the link below: Edited By Brandon Thorn on 30/12/2019 12:58:16 |
Thread: Propane Or LPG powered instead of coal? |
09/10/2015 15:09:45 |
Thank you all for your quick replies! I understand that steaming with LPG defeats the whole aesthetics of the hobby. However, all of my vehicles run on LPG, even my lawn mower and strimmer. So I figure why not convert one of my little locos to run on the "going Green Gas" too keeping up with the pattern. I have five locos, one of which is the 5" G Metro, If i can find the article that duncan was talking about, I would like to try it on LPG. Please let me know If anyone has any further information on where I may be able to find this article? |

I know this defeats the purpose of the whole live steam experience but I was wondering if anyone uses propane instead of coal? If so, what kind of results are you seeing? Are there any companies selling burner kits for locos? |

Temp Spec are: Safety-Silv 56: SilverFlo 55
|

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. First problem, I live in the states, so purchasing Silverflo 55 is a bit of a problem for me here. I have been looking at a couple weld supply shops in my area and I noticed that I can purchase Safety-Silv 56. From what I can see the specs look close to silverflo 55: Safety-Silv 56 Silverflo 55 Might anyone one be able to look at these spec and advice me if they think solder will be good for use of soldering a boiler? Thank you in advanced for your help.

I was just wondering if anyone else may have input on the above question? Any help would be a big help.

Thank you Jason and Julian for the quick replies, unfortunately I have already tried the Maxitrack website with no luck. A plus side about this loco was it started in the late 80's, so the boiler was already built to the modern standard. |

I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me. I recently purchased a part built Bonds / greenly 3.5" gauge royal scot. However I am missing the blueprints. Does anyone know where I might be able find these prints? Or possibly get a copy of someones prints? Was this build ever featured in the Model engineer Mag? Also does anyone have any castings they might be willing to sell for this loco? Thank you in advanced for your help. - Brandon |
