Western Steam - Burnham on Sea, Cheddar Valley Steam? Both just off the M5.

Googling (?) will find them

I can also recommend GB Boilers based in Bedworth, Warwickshire. Ex-Reeves man doing reasonable prices in a reasonable timescale.

I'm just a very satisfied customer - he did a Hunslet boiler for me.

Hello all, need to ask some advice on choosing a boiler maker if i may.

I have had 3 quotes, GB Boilers, Cheddar Valley steam & Western Steam.

Both GB Boilers and Cheddar Valley came in very close on both cost and delivery, Western steam are just that little bit to expensive for me at the moment.

Is anyone able to give me there opinion of them ?

Thanks,

Brian

Helen at Western Steam did my 2" Fowler boiler, I'd go to her again. Blackgates did my minnie many moons ago.

My mate in the Philippines swears by Helens 5" gauge Simplex boiler.

And that's BY and not at, that he did AT an Aussie made offering.

Regards Ian.

Looks like the Simplex build on the Dr-John site you are talking about. That is a most enjoyable read. The boiler disaster is noted around page 6. The replacement boiler looks stunning .**LINK**

That's the one Steven, sadly, Bantayan now a tribute to the old b****rs tenacity. When some witter about poor deliveries from local companies, obtaining bits initially in Malaysia and latterly in the Philippines was a nightmare.

Regards Ian.
