To whom it may concern: I stand at that magical portal and enter my choice of words and .....nothing.

Now come on guys do I have to resort to Runes of Elvish Language or what?

Seriously Admin I haven't had anything returned using this questionable facility/search at all. Hence the sarcasm.

Jesse,

If you are using the Search box on this page ... It only searches in the Thread Title

Can't complain, because that's what it says !!

There is a better [than nothing] Box, part way down the Home Page, that shortcuts to a Google Search within the site. ... Give that a try.

Okay Michael, I somehow knew it would be something like that otherwise you would have had more moans about it. Sometimes I can't see the wood between my own ears.

My apologies.

Can we ask for an update to the search SQL so that it includes the column for the body text?

Ed.

Other than that we could try something Harry Potter-ish ~ "Quaerere Revelio" wink

Hi Ed,

It's not SQL based, its a very simple search.

I recommend the search box on the home page as Michael says (put there at my suggestion many moons ago )

I've been wondering how long it would take before the rubbish search system for websites would be mentioned

Googlie needs your advertising dollars and it can't get those if you stay off-site with a good search system

This is what you need to search a single site properly, the site syntax comes after the search request, just plonk the site: name in and google digs about

.

Ady,

I'm bewildered ... your link does the same thing as the box on the home page.

Look for this box on the home page:

search box.jpg

Alternatively use the box below (unlike the home page search this creates a [po-up window with ads).
