Hi

This issue about ads running over the post is as recurring as days on a calendar.

Some Pages get it right on the site and some not on the same site. Look at this post and the one about fitting a workshop in a space.

Sure it is a setting on the page itself that causes this repeating occurrence.

Come on Software developer get your act together. It is called Programming Standards

Eddie.

Hi Lawrie

Yep your right I should have given the IE version number as things can and do vary between editions, currently I am using IE8 with XP. If I use Safari then there are no problems. This also applies to the home page of Chester UK site if the favourites menu in IE is enabled and made a bit too widefrown.

Cheers

Eddie, neither IE8 with compatibility set nor Safari V5 can help with the post you refer to. It looks like it may be something to do with the size of pictures as I didn't notice any long URLs so that is one for the forum/site designer.

Cheers

Martin

Here is the simple technical answer to the problem.

If the problem exists in one browser and not another, then the problem is with the browser and not the web site!

Simple eh?

Simple but not necessarily true.

Browsers are designed (or should be) to comply with the standards as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These standards define how a browser should handle valid code, however they do not define how they should handle incorrectly coded pages so if a page contains coding errors it may well respond differently in different browsers.

I have just checked the page your post is on with the W3C Validator and it came up with seven errors and two warnings.

Russell.

No, it means the web design has been done to suit a specific browser rather than generically to suit all the major ones.
