First job for the mill is to make a bloody tripod.

At this rate we will have to run a competition for the most wobbly video.

The winner gets a Sooper Adapt lathe and the runner up gets two.

Try Arcsoft Videoimpression (free download).

arcsoft-videoimpression.jaleco.com/

Used to be given away free with webcams.

Instead of running round the workshop trying top video everything, take a short, steady clip of each point of interest, drop into videoimpression, crop out any excess/wobbly bits and use nice transitions over the joins. Then record you narration over the top.

Neil

Uhum, I actually make videos for a pal of mine so I do normally know what I am doing. It was not meant to be anything special just a quick look and done in a hurry

I use premier pro for all my editing .So just wait for some thats better when I have more time.film

Niiiice! quiet too, I assume that it is the belt driven version, my WM 16 is noisy but it has the plastic / metal gear driven head which would account for it... thumbs up

George.

I believe its gear driven

Here is a photo with the cover off showing the motor, the cover is plastic not metal which was a supprise.

I'm jealous, because my new WM18 was delivered by Warco last August, and it is still sitting on its pallet in my garage under a cover!

The Boxford 280 and Myford Super 7 lathes are also sitting there under sheets too, along with a Centec horizontal mill, and a Clarkson tool grinder......

Before I can set everything up and start using it I have to build a 4.8m long shed at the back of the garage (to remove a lot of the clutter from the garage, to make room for the machinery to be set out properly), plus build a new garage adjoining the existing one, so I can put the car in it.

Building the new garage doesn't affect setting up the workshop, except at the time of doing this I will rewire the existing one to take the machinery, so that is also holding things up.

So, a way to go yet before the place is up and running! sad

Following this thread with interest, I'm after a WM18 and from what I gathered I think I'll go for it. Would you mind if I asked you to measure the base attachment holes for me, diameter and distance apart? As I'll be shipping it and a lathe abroad I'm thinking of making the stands myself.

Blow the garage for the car swarf needs to be made if you leave the machines outside covered over a light coating of rust will start then you will spend all your time cleaning and no swarf

You must live in a crime free area as around were I live a machines would be gone by know

Machines are in the garage, car lives outside, despite the fact that is my pride and joy too, and also highly nickable wink 2.

I'm also in a rural area in the middle of nowhere wink.

Tell me about it. I've prioritised my jobs, and sorting the workshop has to wait, probably until around June-July, so not far off now cool.

Bit hard to measure with the bolts in place but approximately:

I can however now that the machine is on the stand the measurement will not be that accurate. Probably better to phone Warco as they have new stands in stock now and will a more accurate measurement with nothing on it.

Thanks for that, it will do for now. I only need to get an idea of where the holes are so I can some up with a design for the stand ( I'm doing a combined bench for the WM18 and WM280). I'll pick the exact hole positions when I have the machinery delivered.

Thanks again and sorry for the hijack wink

I have fitted an angel eye light to help with illumination. I was sourced frp, a car shop on ebay and is 12v. Its powered off an old 240-12v power supply I had lying around. The fit is perfect gripping the underneath of the head very well after a little bit of sanding,

This is what the angel eye looks like
