![]() 544 forum posts 17 photos | Just reading some of the comments there about the slagging of some of the people who contribute to the forum,is it any wonder that they decide to give it a miss ? I can give it and take it,but there comes a point where you ask yourself "with friends like this, who needs enemy,s? People do their best, none of us can do any better [despite what we like to think ] so, I say,OK, you dont agree with them, but dont insult them, they might still know a lot more than you do. In my case, they do ! |

I know, and I don't know the answer either, all I know is he ruffled a few feathers, then he wasn't seen again. There's normally only two reasons for that - they flounced off in a cloud of chiffon, or they walked the plank........ And I won't even ask how you found that video! Let's face it, no one knows why Ajohnw is no longer around - least of all me - but when speculating it might be worth considering that many users here are of somewhat advanced ages and that there are other reasons for ceasing to post than going off in a huff. |

40 forum posts 3 photos | I feel must say something in Michael Gilligans defence. It's numb-scules like me who could learn from him, he gave a lot of time to this forum. I for one will miss him. I think courtesy is what he deserves. Michael please think again for the likes of me and many others. |

I feel must say something in Michael Gilligans defence. I think courtesy is what he deserves. Which prompts me to post..... If you were having a conversation face to face with a forum member, would you say to his face the same as you post on here? Common courtesy costs nothing? |

How much time did Michael G spend in giving information on finding links ? it must amount to 100,s of man hours, much of which has been interesting, useful and for many, including myself encouraging! ....Sometimes that is the problem. It is possible to invest too much of oneself in a forum and it all becomes way too personal. When things get to that stage it's probably best to take a break and go do something else for a while. ![]() 525 forum posts 65 photos | I still lament the loss of Graham Meek. I was astonished at how much trouble Michael would go to to answer questions and look up all sorts of obscure links for people. I hope he reconsiders in time. I also appreciate Julian. His interests and mine coincide closely and he is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in the 5" loco world. |
