Hi, Bill here.
Iv'e just sent you a reply to your query but I think its failed so here goes. I have a 2 inch
filler cap on the bottom of my gun for filling purposes, there is a small vent hole in the upper part of the cylinder for venting the air when operating the gun , if oil is coming out of the vent hole then I would anticipate that the main oil seal has failed, this is easily replaceable. I'm not sure I understand your problem exactly but I hope this is of help to you.

13 forum posts | My original myford oil gun leaks as well. But enough of leaks and oil. Why don,t we use this thread to provide RDG with our ideal lathe spec? |

Thanks for sharing the mod info on the oil gun nozzle, can you tell me what the thread is on your gun?
I have attempted to measure the thread on mine (as supplied by Myford purchased 1973) and it appears to be close to 3/8" (0.368") and 27 tpi but I cannot find anything that matches that in any of my data tables. Is it a BSP thread or something else?
TIA

Many thanks for your responses on this, at least I now know what it should be.
Will spend some time over the w/e experimenting, I know that I have got a 1/8" BSP die knocking about somewhere, with luck I might even have a tap.
Well I live in hope!
