Woohoo! success laugh

[…]

Now to give myself a heart attack and see how much a half inch keyless chuck is going to cost Santa! devil

.

Just quickly fishing around ... about £70 for a Rohm 871054

... and less for a lesser one.

Well, what a surprise, I received an email from Emma @ Meddings machine tools this morning. I now know my machine was born in May 1954 so I was about 2 1/2 then!

I cleaned up the taper and put the 10th indicator and could see no discernable run-out or bearing wear, good enough for me.

Rotagrip in Birmingham do a reasonably priced keyless chuck which I can recommend as excellent VFM.

Usual disclaimer - no connections other than a satisfied customer.

So have I missed something and this drill does not have a MT extractor slot in the spindle?

Haha, no that's a Modav Fairey Hunstman for restoration but I do have a Billing Boats Rainbow fishing cutter static kit to convert, must get my skates on and get it done laugh

Yes you missed the lot and I really wished it had crying

I have ordered one from Arc Euro and it should be with me by tomorrow, Emma @ Meddings replied to me today regarding spares for the drill, they only had a s/h safety guard carrier @ too much money so I'll make my own.

Regards

Roger
