Hi Bill, what would be a real help would be the diameter and unsprung length of the spring and SWG or dia of spring steel itself.
On a different note, I bought an old Turner Universal tool and cutter grinder last night, it looks interesting, delivered Saturday, I cant wait.

Garry, sorry for the delay, only just remembered.

The spring has 7 turns, uncompressed free length of 4 1/4"

OD 1.64" i.e. 1 41/64"

Wire diameter, as far as I can measure id 0.105", so I guess 12 gauge

Any more queries, just shout up.

Bill

Bill, I will get some spring steel ordered and make one up along with the spring cap and drawbar.
Thank you once again for your help.

No problem, if you're ever near Buxton, feel free to drop in for a brew

Good luck with that, nothing posted since last summer and you cant add new posts, I think the moderator is asleep.

Yahoo made all sorts of changes to how the groups ran a little while ago.
I had/have BT internet and this seemed to cause me major problems with the way BT and Yahoo groups interacted.
It wouldn't surprise me if the owner/mod has been denied access to their own group.
Does anyone on here know who it was and an alternative method of contacting them?

I kept getting chucked off various groups for no apparent reason. In the end I re-joined all of "my" groups using a new Yahoo email address created specially for it.

Bill, thanks for the info on the feed motors. I will pick them up on Sunday so I can have a look at what exactly is fitted to this machine, as I think it has been modified at some point.

Bill,

I've just searched Yahoo Groups, and found this for the Centec group:

314 members Last activity Oct 17, 2017

... Looks like it's a 'Norwegian Blue'

It was fairly useless, anyway. Mostly decent posts by Binswood, IIRC (Gary on here). Posts sometimes took as much as four days between submitting and them appearing on the listing. Sometimes never, dependent on the whim of the ‘moderator’.

This forum is far better for Centec info.
