Looks nice and pretty but what about files that the great unwashed can read????
Good documentation too (something of a rarity these days). The Quick-Reference card is a work of art. Not simply a viewer either - it also lets you take measurements and a whole boatload of other stuff. Unless I'm actually going to use the stl file for something I find it more convenient to open the stl in 3D-Tool than my CAD or 3D-Printer clients. Edited By Bandersnatch on 13/06/2017 01:18:37 |

I've just had a look at that Quick-Reference card, and agree it's an excellent piece of work https://www.3d-tool.com/downloads/3D-Tool-Quickreference.pdf Unfortunately for me, the program is for Windows; so I'm unlikely to use it. https://www.3d-tool.com/en_free-viewer-download.htm MichaelG. |

1719 forum posts 1 photos | Old thread but this is where I'd mentioned 3D-Tool and I wanted to add to it. The current free version is still fine but does now contain a nag screen that you have to respond to each time it starts .. such is life. Of interest though is they've now added a separate native CAD converter which looks like it could be right handy but needs a full licence. So I wondered what an individual licence would cost. Turns out the people at 3D-Tool are a little coy about this. They have two systems of licencing- commercial and individual but they give no prices. You have to make a specific application to them and they will make you an "offer". So I duly did this, as an individual for a single licence and the offer came back .... 600 Euro's (just about $1000 Canadian Dollars). To say I was flabbergasted at this for a personal licence would be an understatement! Thought others might want to know. Edited By Bandersnatch on 18/12/2017 17:39:32 |
