I'll try and get along to this one. Hope the club stands have some nice examples of shop made tooling!

I wouldn't put Anson Engine Museum on your ALSO visit list as it dosnt open until Easter.

I think with regard to Event City Shows it may well have been like the one our motorcycle club show at in a couple of months time. As a club we get free entry along with a free double stand area to promote.

Money is taken from the business operators who attend and sell. If it was run on a similar basis then maybe there was just not enough cash generated from sellers to keep it viable.

Excellent standard of exhibits, but poor venue, short of car parking and very crowded inside. Queue for the cafe was a joke. I hope they do it again, but needs more space

I need room inside to manoeuvre the electric 'chair. Full car park = crowded inside.

Went today, a small but good exhibition, rather crowded, but that's the penalty of success. The downside of Sandown was that its so big it feels half empty even when lots of people are in it!

Not much tooling on show, mostly locos but some nice stationary engines as well. A modest but varied representation from the trade - Tony very cheerful on the Chester stand with a rapidly diminishing pile of mini-lathes. Stocked up on carbide inserts from JB and a bit of metal from Blackgates.

Met a few folks, but I suspect my beard may have confused a few folks

Your disguise worked on me! I did see someone that I thought I recognised but then I thought, 'no it cant be'.

I too bought carbide bits off JB but metal was from Noggin End also some Delrin offcuts from Parkside (I think). Lots of nice models but the narrow aisle between the stands made viewing difficult. As others have said the car park is small but there are plenty of side streets a five minute walk away.

Thank you for the posts. I passed the venue the other day and thought it looked a bit small. Probably go for a ride to Blackpool and have a walk up the front instead. Nowt I want anyway from the dealers.

Nice one Roy good on you for trying

Went today. busy but not overly so.. really nice and friendly atmosphere. small but nice venue.. I hope the turnout gives confidence to the organisers to repeat next year. Thanks for all your hard work, some really inspiring examples of workmanship on show.

Just a quick post to say 'well done' to all involved with the Manchester Exhibition. Nothing was too much trouble for the stewards and staff. They were all very helpful throughout to both traders and exhibitors. Yes Saturday morning was a bit chaotic with the amount of people there but they organisers reacted immediately and opened the doors to the exhibition early to aid the flow of visitors. We at CuP Alloys look forward to next year's event.
