![]() 169 forum posts 330 photos | Well let me start with an apology to anyone left hanging from my last post to those of you have have just flatly fallen asleep from boredom waiting for another update. I have been somewhat sidetracked with this project with trying to catch up with some previously started projects that have been left wallowing in despair at the back of the shop. Photos below show the causes for the delays. I should have the V12 running again in the next couple of weeks. Cheers for now Dean |

![]() 279 forum posts 21 photos | Just had a random thought. Have you looked at a compressed air starter? An air driven die grinder might have enough torque and can spin up to over 22k. All you'd need is to turn up an adapter that would fit the 1/4" collet. Bonus is that it would sound really cool..... Ian |

![]() 169 forum posts 330 photos | Thanks, although I am still trying to get the time to run it up again as I have made and fitted a new set of carb barrels and also Refitted the toothed belt blower drive with a slightly different drive speed so it will be interesting to see how they affect the running, If it runs at all that is Cheers Dean |

![]() 169 forum posts 330 photos | Well as its been quite some time since my last little model engine confessions and even longer since updating this thread I thought it high time i pulled finger (as they say) and posted a bit more on the V12 project. I decided to do a bit of a rethink with this engine and went ahead and made some sand casting gear and cast up a couple of new cases for the V12. photos below show the depths of insanity that some will sink into if left alone long enough. So hears the end results Yeah I know I said a couple but if I want to end up with at least one good engine I should probably allow for so oopsies, lol cheers for now Dean Edited By dean clarke 2 on 02/03/2019 05:46:20 Edited By dean clarke 2 on 02/03/2019 05:46:38 |

![]() 169 forum posts 330 photos | So...........been a little busy over the last few years and sorta sidetracked. I have however stumbled across this engine sitting way back in the workshop languishing in a sad state of neglect and have brought it forward to the front of the que once again. I stripped it down to check out the inside and give it a big clean and found a broken piston so am now in the process of remaking a set of pistons to slightly improved design. I'll update with photos in the next couple of days. Cheers Dean |
