Thread: Is there a special tool for this? |
02/07/2022 16:13:24 |
I think what you need is an E5 security bit if you Google it you should get some hits. Tried to paste the link but for some reason it didn't work, could be the change over or the fact I'm using a android tablet |
Thread: Advice sought on buying a nature watch camera for my garden |

Greensands One way of conserving battery life is to use the timer function so that the camera only becomes active during that period. Use of good quality batteries also helps. Mine uses 8 at a time so Duracell work out expensive but supermarket own brand are OK. Length of video recording is also something that will drain but 30 sec is long enough. IR light is another drain but most often you can set a delay between recording so you don't get 5 minutes of your cat chasing moths. |

I have a Campark T85 model. Mine has wifi and Bluetooth so that with an app on your phone you can see exactly where the camera is looking. Being battery powered means can move it around your garden to find entry and exit points. |

Not showing on mine either so thought I would view it via the magazine tab but it only displays up to issue 312 (Feb). Didn't know the issues were missing as always use pocket mag to view as the display is better. |
Thread: HOW FAST - ANEMOMETER CALIBRATION ? |
18/02/2022 13:29:33 |
As Martin suggested but use the GPS spèed reading on one of the mapping apps such as Google maps or waze available on most smartphone. You may need to find a long bit of road where you can stay at a constant speed |
Thread: Controlled release of a Clarke Bottle Jack fitted to an engine building stand |
06/01/2022 12:54:14 |
As an alternative have you thought about a 12v electric scissor jack where you have button control of lowering speed. Search youtube and you can see them in operation most were rated at 3 tonnes. You could supply power from a laptop charger or a spare 12v battery. |

Whatever machine you decide on think about adding a DRO system to help with the positioning of the drilled holes. There are plenty of budget systems on the market and have been covered in threads on this forum. |
Thread: Today's delivery |
29/07/2020 12:56:38 |
I worked at a car dealership in the parts dept and spoke to the Wurth rep about why they sent small items in big boxes. He told me that it was cheaper doing it this way than taking the cost hit resending out the small item in a packet that had been lost in the back of the courier van, |
Thread: How to stop scam phone calls for good? |
21/07/2020 14:48:31 |
In the past I have used TPS **LINK** This blocked a lot of cold calls based in the UK but the foreign based ones sometimes slipped through. Your phone provider may have something to sign up with. I am with Sky and they have a screening service called Talk Shield which allows you to block numbers you don't want. |
Thread: Cigarette Papers |
13/07/2020 12:37:11 |
I served my apprenticeship at a company called Molins who made cigarette manufacturing machines and in all the workshops there would be a reel of cigarette paper to aid with setting up and we always used to work on 1 thou. Off-topic the same company during the war made the Molins 6 pounder gun fitted to the Mosquito fighter bomber
