Thread: What is the most useful workshop tool that you have made?
18/11/2015 20:22:35

Sort of a workshop tool !!. Definitely the most useful thing Ive ever made, a folding beam woodsplitter, or one of em. I must have split many tons with the one at the back. Only about 7 ton splitting pressure, but gets through most things.

Thread: Todays update from Bodgers Lodge
06/10/2015 13:51:43

John, I did realise what you meant about Norton wink 2 .

06/10/2015 09:13:20

Hey, Nortons are allright !. I like mine anyway blush.

Seriously, I, perhaps like a lot of people, look forward to the Bodgers Lodge posts, the machining that is !.Not geeky rubbish as Herbert says.Ive learnt a lot, especially his belt drive mod to the lathe. I converted my DSG to the same, hell of a difference. Zapp Automation in Poole are good for gears and pulleys (no connection).

Thread: Free Micrometers.

Hello all, yes, seems someone has claimed them for a new home blush

05/10/2015 12:39:08

Hello all, Im having a sort out and realise Ive too many micrometers. So, if anyone out there is perhaps just beginning the machining hobby, and needs or would like a 0-1 and a 1-2 inch imperial micrometer, you are welcome to them. They are both Shardlow of Sheffield and in good condition. I will send FOC to the first to PM me. Thanks.

Thread: What did you do today (2015)
29/08/2015 17:13:55

Wandered into our local railway workshop, and there was the A4 , 60009. Very unusual. Turns out it broke down at Newton Abbot, and ended up here with badly knackered bearing (l/h of the 3 I think). Causing a lot of trouble by all accounts because its supposedly hasnt been long in for repair at Crewe. I was told it is supposed to be pulling the royal train in Scotland in a couple of weeks, so the owner is not happy. The offendscf1543.jpgding wheel set is on the right of picture. Big job !!..

17/08/2015 09:41:16

Windy, cracking pictures, some interesting stuff there !.

15/08/2015 10:08:09

Finished off my changewheel to belt drive conversion ( JS design) on my lathe. Well worth it for the noise reduction.

Thread: Contacting John, Doubleboost.

Thanks for the replies. It now appears I was successful after all on madmodder, and had a reply from him. Cheers.
