Hello Doug, I had this problem not long ago , I bought a 20 inch planer weight about 30 cwt wanted to move it 8 miles. I got one of the local skip lorries to come with a skip put the planer in the skip , skip on lorry, did not have to lift the machine very high off the ground with the slings job done without any damage .

David, While ever the firebox crown is covered with water the plug is safe , I think it has the same effect as trying to solder a pipe while it has water in it im sure you know it cant be done.

Hi Gardener, I asked Chronos the tool firm who are next to Luton, in fact just the other side of the M1,thinking they would most likley deal with them, if they knew of Luton & District Model Engineering Society but they said no. My daughter lives in Luton so have set her onto checking if it still going. Anything I find will post on here. Regards Bill. |

I subscribed in December, Then got 4 identical letters acknowledging my subscription Just received copy 161 today which as you say is the March issue dont know what happend to the February 160 copy that the letters said would be the first to arrive? but at least they have started coming. |
