15 forum posts | Can you help? I am trying to track down the Luton & District Model Engineering Society. Read an old article recently from the Luton News dated August 1953 which accompanied a picture of the club opening their new 3.5" gauge track in Crompton Avenue Leagraves. The property was own by Mr H D Bond. In the background watching a steam locomotive was my grandfather. I believe the club is still operating more than likely at a different ground. Any contact from members much appreciated. Gardener |

27 forum posts | Hi Gardener, I asked Chronos the tool firm who are next to Luton, in fact just the other side of the M1,thinking they would most likley deal with them, if they knew of Luton & District Model Engineering Society but they said no. My daughter lives in Luton so have set her onto checking if it still going. Anything I find will post on here. Regards Bill. |

940 forum posts 30 photos | Hi
I have found a reference to the Luton Model Railway Club which is listed on the Chiltern Model Railway Association web site. They might be worth contacting to see if they know whether the Luton & District Model Engineering Society is still functioning and where they are located if they are meeting.
Cheers
