When I was working I had a Morris Marina diesel company car. I used to put a pint of oil in every Monday Morning.

( 1000 -1500 miles.) The dealers claimed that it was within spec. I never had any problems with it and the odometer went all the way round plus about 30000 miles before it was replaced.

Thread: Filing rest - hardened guides ruining files
12/07/2022 13:45:47

If the filing rest is set up properly, the file should only just touch the rollers as the job is brought to size. The file should not be rubbing hard against the rollers

Thread: ME Club silent auctions
06/07/2022 09:31:41

Our camera club does not charge for entries but does expect 10% of the successful bid for club funds. It's surprising how many sellers donate all the bid

It's also surprising how many items will turn up every year

Thread: WM280v PCD
16/06/2022 16:11:49

I attended  Technical College 1948 to 1950, then one day a week day release then three nights a week.

The first day there, we were lined up in the hall and the teacher went down the line picking us out for Pit , Mill, and Engineering. We decided which course to follow after about three months.

I understand that the local industries paid for the Techs. and that was were they got their apprentices from.

Just a further thought. If you consider how washers are made ie. by punching, they will work harden. try annealing

particularly in brass
