If simple balls are to be turned they are ok but if accurate balls Arte needed say for trackrod ends etc a tool slide needs to be addedimg_4171.jpeg

Always anneal before bending the tube will work easier and the inside and outside of the bend will more readily contract and expand.

Fully agree with Tony, Had the same scenario when I used to organise classic bike part of a local show and only entries that were ridden in were judged. After a couple of years the trailered bikes with no internals didn't bother coming.

The T type blade I have has the same dims tops and bottom edge as the standard tapered eclipse type and fit in my holder fine if that’s any help.

the parting discussion goes on and on but as KWIL says you have to make them work , most parting problems seem to occur with users being too tentative its one of those jobs where you have to grow a pair of !!!!!!!!. Once mastered its a joy.

the insert stays put because its in a taper and the forces acting on it push it further into that taper. the holder and the inserts also have matching V gloves top and bottom giving sideways integrity.

Further to the discussion about 5/16 diehead front screws I had a discussion with the nice man from Wisemans today and when he found out I was a Model Engineer said he would ring me back ha ha, but he did and told me the price of the screws and said he had the works drawing in front of him and the screws were 0.155 x 42 Wh !!. So if anybody is desperate away you go!

Problem is that any chemical blacking won't take on the bronze repair. you could try a VHT barbecue paint
