I recall seeing somewhere - possibly on the SKF site - a bearing puller that has thin legs with shaped ends that are designed to fit between the balls and then twist to lock into the inner and outer races. More than likely horribly expensive, but an interesting idea.

i have solar water heating, wile i cannot say it don't work it is so inefficient it will need to last about 70 years to recuperate it cost, assuming it never requires any maintenance. so for anybody considering solar water heating unless you live somewhere much sunnier than the UK i surgest don't waste your money

i use a dehumidifier and the oil left after the water in the coolant has evaporated cos i am a mucky pup that rarely cleans his machine. no rust issues

nasty little rot boxes used to weld loads of them to get them through the mot and yes i did have one

as for the k series engine the only engine that needed the head gasket changing more often than the cambelt did lots of them too
