Thread: Newbie trying to thread |

The first time I did threadind was a complete train wreck too. The easiest way to learn is to watch YouTube vids on the subject.. As David said withdraw the tool fom from the thread reverse beyond the start then reset for the next cut keeping the half nuts engaged at all times. The reason you dragged across the first cut is because of back lash in the lead screw MickyT |

i use cura slicer with my ender 3 and you can open a file twice (or mas many times as you like) on the same work area and then slice and save as g code for printing. You are able to move the objects around so that they fit within the printing area. MickyT |

I work for Royal Mail and I'm classified as a key worker so still going to work We still have plenty of items coming through infact it is nearly as busy as it is at Christmas. Post Offices are one of the businesses on the high street that are allowed to stay open under current guidelines so if you order from one of the sellers on eBay that use Royal Mail then you should get your item. Hi Nigel A modern technic for cutting wheels is to use an aluminium arbour and to glue the blanc onto it with super glue. it is then removed using a little heat. Have a look at this video by clickspring which explains their use. **LINK**

Thread: Cast Iron For Boxford Change Gears? |
25/05/2019 10:56:45 |
I made an Arduino indexer as described in MEW 249. There was a thread about slight changes to get the package working **LINK** . I then used the Arduino code from the home model engine machinists forum **LINK** . Well worth the read and probably the easiest way to index a 127 gear. Mickey

Thread: Supplier for Large Timber Workshop - Recommendations Please |
13/07/2018 09:25:31 |
Hi Nick Your friend could try these suppliers of timber buildings. **LINK** they supplied me with a log cabin 5M by 5M. It comes as a flat pack It all slots together A full set of plans and construction details come with the building You can purchase a full roof insulation and floor insulation kit. I purchased the thicker floor boards i think they were about 30mm thick. I have been very satisfied with my purchase so far. not the cheapest way of doing a building but definatley very satisfying. I have gone through one winter so far and i was quite warm in there. I do not work for the above firm , just a very satisfied customer Mick

Thread: What did you do Today 2018 |

It’s not my original idea . But the copper rings are 38mm in diameter and should only allow access to small sead eating birds like blue tits sparrows and robins. As soon as I get birds eating in there I’ll post a photo. |

Finally placed the new Squirrel proof bird feeder in the garden |
