Thread: Help on a Matador four stroke engine build please. |
26/04/2019 21:24:40 |
I have never built my own aero model engine but I have owned a few Laser engines (and still do), British 4 stroke engines, very reliable and fairly powerful. I can't say for sure, but maybe you could contact them and buy gears from them? Link below Edited By Ian Skeldon 2 on 26/04/2019 21:26:20 |

Duncan Thanks for the tip, will give that a go. Jason I love that engine, just to give an idea of the size, what diameter is the fly wheel? |

Thread: Soba rotary table |
13/03/2019 20:04:58 |
I have seen lots of the things you have made, so in the right hands they're very useable. Thanks Jason |

Does anyone here use a Soba roary table without any issues? As already covered it depends on the level of accuracy the user is trying to achieve but it would be interesting to hear from owners of such tooling. |

I don't think I will ever have to worry that a shaft or bearing face is one hundredth of a millimeter out, and if I did I am really sure I don't have the time, equipment or skill to improve it, so maybe that vertex would be a good item for me to buy. Ketan, do you sell Vertex? Ian |

Thank you Benjamin, IanT and Nick, I will check out both of those suggestions. Ian |

Firstly my apologies is this post is considered to be hi-jacking the original thread (there's a pun in there somewhere). What is considered to be the best way to create very small diameter threads ( 1mm for instance) both internal and external, can you buy taps and dies in that sort of size? Thanks, Ian |

Could be I am looking at the wrong thing, this is all I found **LINK**when looking for Onshape. As I am not a student or an educator it would seem that there is only the trial version available? |
14/01/2019 21:14:51 |
Turbine Guy, I have looked at Onshape a couple of times but unless your a student (or I have missed something), it seems pretty expensive $1500 a year. Ian |

Hi Martin, It does have some fine drawings in the gallery, like I said it would seem that you know your way around it pretty well. ATB, Ian |
13/01/2019 16:42:59 |
Martin (or should it be Eddie ?) anyway, you do make it look easy with MOI, you certainly seem to know your way around that particular package, out of curiosity, what does it cost to buy? Edited By Ian Skeldon 2 on 13/01/2019 16:43:31 |

I don't think you can go wrong for a tenner as long as it's accurate enough for the intended use, I will have to take a look around for a Lidel, thanks Bazyle. |
