When much Younger I spent My excess time lollygagging in an old time auto parts store. One day a customer came in carrying a very bent up piece of wire. He said that They were fishing many miles down river. They shut off their motor to fish and it would not restart. When peering down the spark plug They spied with Their little eye a piece of metal across the hole. They decided that after many miles use of the running motor the siece of metal was stopping the spark from reaching the fuel and shorting out. So they got in there and unwound the piece of metal. Do You see where this is going? Upon trying to put the spark plug back in They discovered the hole was now much too big. They had to row home with only 1 oar. Bought the wire in the shop among the public to find out what it was. Many more stories like that. |

Used to bandsaw and flycut asbestos. Would be covered completely in white. Did use a facemask to keep out the big lumps. Job ended in 1982. Also used to put My arms in a trichlorethane steam heated vapor degreasing tank ,arms only tingeled once. |

Me and a neighbor launched an arrow straight up in the air. Had it good and plumb by eye. It came down about 1 foot from Him. No aerial balloons then. Last attempt also. |

I live on a glide path to a medium used military airport. Several years ago I was outside at night and a military jet went over "darn the noise hit the gas." At around 2 minute intervals 3 more went over. No chance of seeing them as the sound was lagging behind. 2 or 3 days Bengazi was on the news, I figure these were the fighters that were scrambeled then recalled. |

I live right in the middle of Ohio which is right in the thick of things. So far just a few bumps in the electric. No wide spread outages. We use wood exclusively for heat, burning only fallen ash die off trees, free heat with the accompining work. We live on a corner of Her parents farm. Well insulated house and more importantly |

I have had a sultry sounding red headed Russian sounding WOman tell Me she was setting in My driveway waiting for Me to come out. I did not even look out the windows. If She would get a hold of Me I would probably be crinkled up for ages. |
Thread: How to get 9° .38' on a dividing head? |

I have to make 9 rotary splines(?) on a handle and it needs to start 1/2 of a tooth from a feature. Don't know the proper name. The teeth will be cut horizontally with an end mill tapering to the center. 40 to 1 ratio.

I have an 15-16-17-18-19-20,hole plate. Maybe others. I have to make a handle that has 9 divisions and need to offset the first cut. I could scribe a line but was wondering if it had to be precise how would it be done. |

Worked with a Guy, His side work was welding rail up, sidings to factories, etc. Seems cheaper to replace rail rather than weld.

Worked with a Guy arrested for Drunk driving, recieved a light sentence of working weekends at the Sherriffs Dept for around 2-3 years. They let Him go to work during the week. He recieved the job of washing the Sherriffs cars. They knew He was an alcoholic and let Him keep a beer nearby while washing cars. A friend had a Pinto hatch back, He got stopped for driving too slow. When He got out several empty beer cans fell out of the car. The police asked if they were His, He said yes but He drank them at lunch at work. The hatch back was full of cans up to the top of the seats. Next day at work He got a wheel barrow and emptied 3 loads out. Another coworker had 5 driving under impaired, kept on driving with no license. I hope it has changed by now. |
