Came across this web-site this morning with every thread I have ever heard of and some I hadn't - including an "ME model engineering thread"

Bit hesitant to click on any link without a bit more information. I have no idea what this is.

Sorry, should explain it better....

I was looking for thread details for NPTF threads this morning and this site "Gerwinde-normen" came up and I was amazed at the detail and threads covered.

Its fine, I've used that same thread data site for several years along with this one.

I've altered the title a bit so its clearer that the link is about thread forms not threads on a forum as I thought it was when I saw the title

Please be aware that the tapping sizes given in the link provided by Trevor Wright are not correct as they are in fact the core diameter of the particular thread. If these sizes used you will be attempting to produce threads with 100% engagement which is not correct. If a core diameter drill is used with BA threads for example the result will almost certainly be a broken tap!

For most general applications 75% engagement is the norm. Use the tapping sizes quoted in Zeus tables.

I read "thread" as forum thread. Obviously I need coffee.

This site gives details of some even more obscure threads.

Russell.
