![]() 694 forum posts 2 photos | Please be aware that the tapping sizes given in the link provided by Trevor Wright are not correct as they are in fact the core diameter of the particular thread. If these sizes used you will be attempting to produce threads with 100% engagement which is not correct. If a core diameter drill is used with BA threads for example the result will almost certainly be a broken tap! For most general applications 75% engagement is the norm. Use the tapping sizes quoted in Zeus tables. |
