Hi folks, any Sherline lathe users out there...I am at the moment working on building the James Coombes, I have the pulley shaft clamped in the 3 jaw scroll chuck...problem is , my memory keeps letting me down , i can not think of which way to turn the chuck to loosen it ...can anyone help .

all the best for now,

John.

.

At a guess. As the lathe (looking at the chuck face) spends the the vast majority of it's time running anti-clockwise I would say the chuck also unscrews anti-clockwise.

Think its the same as a Unimat 3, pull the tommy bar in the chuck towards you to undo, away to tighten while holding the one in the knurled back ring still
