I am ready to post my write-up, but am being scolded as it's 3600 characters too long.

Dont want to faff about experimenting to find the total per post, so does anyone know what the total is please, as I will have to do mutliple posts.

Geoff - What a saga.

HI Geoff -

At a guess 3600 less than your write-up?

It usually means you have pictures embedded in the text. Put them in an album and use the camera icon instead.

Neil,

Smart arse! yes

Absolutely correct of course.

Will do some 'reverse engineering' using a word processor or text editor.

In the meantime, however, the write-up in all its glory may be downloaded from:

Do I post it here, split into who knows how many parts, or just let anyone interested get to it from the link?

Geoff - Workshop beckons.

An excellent piece of work Geoff. I hope people realise it applies to most of the similar lathes not jus the BH600 including gear heads which still have the same saddle.

I know you got frustrated by the yahoo site but you might be able to load the text plus embedded photos as a doc on there.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write up. Knowing how you tackled this problem is interesting and useful. Most of us will have budget machinery and a little care goes a long way!

Thanks for all the kind remarks.

I forgot to mention that there is a Photo Album up with same name as this thread.

My satisfaction will be if it helps anyone.

Bazyle,

I did manage to sent a post to the yahoo group, but heavens, it was the worse experience I've ever had trying to post on ANY group since I started using them when they first came into being.

Bob from the Group pointed me in the direction of 'tinyurl'. I'd completely forgotten about that service never having used them before, but always clicking on kind of link.

I'm concentrating on the SkyHook so that I can take a video showing how to remove the Apron.

Showing how it's done will be so much quicker compared to explaining in writing, as usual.

Geoff - Progress on the SkyHook going well. I've put the mockers on no doubt.
