![]() 25215 forum posts 3105 photos 1 articles | Looking good Bob but your builder has it easy, the next set of wheels I'm going to build will gave 14 rivits per strake not 4 and he did not have to twist separate strakes to the helix angle. Interesting that they used a snap head on teh outside of the strakes unlike traction engines which used CSK heads, I suppose they needed a bit of grip in all that mud. J |

![]() 7468 forum posts 230 photos | The snap heads will wear(full size gun) quicker than counter sunk, if they are to giove extra traction, they would be better if counter sunk with a raised head, just thinking 12" the foot. Ian S C |

75 forum posts 165 photos | Yeah the would but i shall put rubber between each set of rivets. In real life they rivetted the plates round a solid rubber tyre i think.
