What thread should you choose for the steam in and out connection to Stuart V-10, to fit common accesories.

You have my sympathies 40tpi is common for steam fittings. I used 0Ba and made my own unions as all I had were a few BA taps when I started out. Neil |

Dear Bertil, I have made several Stuart No 10 and other engines and I have just looked at the drawings used. Steam fittings in and out should for 10 H&V should be be ¼” x 32 tpi Drain cocks (smallest of the 3 sizes available) 5/32” x 40 tpi (from the Stuart models catalogue). I hope this is of help. Eric |

In case you has not imperial treads for drain cocks, use M4 treads in the cylinder and make own drain cock, it is not difficult. I did with my Stuart D10 with ownmade drain cocks since the draincocks is not cheap to order from UK due toll tax. Edited By Jens Eirik Skogstad on 31/03/2013 20:38:40 |
