42 forum posts | Can anyone suggest a source for a quantity of 9 BA full size steel nuts? I re thread them 8BA and use with small headed 8BA bolts. The reason why they are useful is that they appear to scale to 1" Whitworth on a 5" gauge loco model. The usual suppliers no longer appear to stock them, as a non standard size. Hope someone can help.

![]() 2314 forum posts 139 photos | Hi John An old friend of mine ( and a superb model engineer) made all his nuts & bolts by milling from round stock. He said this was the only way to achive good scale ! I suspect you may find 9 BA hard to source - but good luck. Regards Norman |

42 forum posts | Thanks Ted. EKP has them no more; search engines produced GLR whch I understand is also no more... I have resorted to making my own, Norman, from 9 BA hex - however our time on earth is limited! John
