Please see Photo Album

I bought this at the Car Boot Sale

I know what is going to be but I don't know what it was.

The paint colour shouts "Record" and I suspect that it came from a Woodworker's Mortising Machine, but I would be grateful for confirmation [or alternative ideas].

Thanks

If it is off a woodworking machine then probably a slot morticing attachment to go on the side of a planer.

Bob,

Do you think the stamped number looks like a Record part number, or is it just someone's own id mark?

... note that something has been obliterated, at the other side.
