Hi there.

I have a problem which I am finding impossible to rectify. I have read through the installation manual but cannot find an answer.

I wonder if anyone has had a simalr problem when wiring thier machines.

My problem is: Restricted remote frequency control.

I have a Mitsubishi FR-S500 inverter wired to supply my lathe motor and have recently wired in a remote control panel on the lathe for convenience.

All seems to be working OK except that the remote frequency control (set to EX on inverter) will only increase to 52 hertz when parameters are set to allow up to 90htz. If set to PU, inverter control the full 0-120 is available.

I have used a 1k 1watt potentiometer to control the frequency and have checked the varying voltage across connections 10-2-5 and am getting 0-5v as would be expected.

The parameters I have set are as follows:

P1-90..P2-10..P3-50..P30-1..P59-1..P79-0

Maybe I am asking something outside the parameters of the inverter but surly not.

Any help will be very much appreciated as I am completely flummoxed. Thankyou.

What does the manufacturer recommend for the resistance of the pot?, I know the value for my Teco-Westinghouse 2HP is 10k.

What kind of pot did you use? mine calls for a Linear one.

Hi Peter

Pr.73 should be set to 0 to give an input range of 0 to 5V.

Regards Martin.

I have this model of inverter on my mill and can confirm that you need to set the input voltage range to 5V. A 1k pot is just fine. If you are going to go up to 120 Hz make sure that your headstock bearings are OK for the top speed.
