Can anyone help, is there a UK supplier of Acme threaded bar? if anyone has a link I would be most grateful.

I am looking for .750 x 8 TPI.

I am repairing/restoring a 1940's Norton No1 T & C grinder and the fine feed screw is missing, I know I could cut one but this is over three feet in length and i'm not sure it would fit on My Boxford.

regards

Paul

Made the first post then went to edit it and put the url in as a link.

Edit doesn't work

About time they dumped this piece of $hite software and got something that worked.

Hi there, Paul,

Just a cautionary thought - do you need your lead screw to be Left-hand or Right-hand thread?

And do you need a matching nut?

Best regards,

Swarf, Mostly.

Gentlemen thank you very much, exactly what I needed.

Swarf, No nut required it has a rather long single sided half nut affair which sits mid point in the casting it's made this way so you can disengage the screw when using the rack to feed.

Regards

Paul
