Just received some mail order 10BA washers which look too big to me.
They have an OD of 4.3mm with a 1.9mm hole. I have trawled the internet and found numerous sites which give thead dimensions, but cannot find spec. for washers. Does anyone know the correct dimensions. Alternatively, where can I get this information without paying BSI a small fortune.

Thanks in advance
Tony

Anthony,

B.A. washers are supplied as Large or Small.
The outside dia. of 10 BA large is 0.171/0.176"
Hole dia. is .073/0.078"
Thickness is 27swg (0.0164")

The reference book I'm looking at now only goes down to 8BA for the small washers.
The above abstract was from BS 57 and it's obvious what you have are large 10 BA washers.

Thankyou Len. dimensions more or less match the washers I have although they still don't look right when used on my model horizontal engine.

Hi Anthony,

Very few full size engines have washers under their nuts.

The link I was given for the BA data no longer seems to work. Have I been blocked from accessing this data by some mysterious webmaster?

Anthony can you get away with brass washers, I noticed yesterday that my 10BA brass ones were quite a bit smaller than the steel ones I have. As far as I know both wer bought from EKP.

Link still works for me.
