My Browser also gives me a warning about acessing the site given in this e-mail - this may be a 'phishing' attempt or similar.

I emailed the address; but nothing back yet. I expect the offices are still closed fro Christmas.

Seems like some people have been listening to the punters at long last!

Bring it on; I say!

Two brand new first posters, I smell something fishy.

Also Future-structures is an architectural one not a publisher.

I've let David Know to save anyone else bothering

Pathetic by anyone's standards.

There are thousands of people far more deserving of the oxygen.

The address seems odd. But, there is rarely smoke without some possibility of fire. The hobby is rife with rumour on all sorts of topics.

Its interesting though; if nothing else.

The address was passed to me the other night. I was told the magazine has been in the planning stage for some months and has credibility.

Containers into sustainable housing? 40' x 8'2"!

Watch out! Shantytown coming to a field near you!

Is this the plan for the Olympic Village? Peter Rachman is probably signed up already.

Excellent work Wat(Ja)son!

If the bounder was straighht about his connection we might be discussing teh new idea right now. As it is, all he's done is make a fool of himself.

Totally agree its not the idea of a new mag but that way its been gone about. I'm sure people would be far more liekly to sign up to some one who was honest from the start than using a roundabout way of advertising.

Space decks, I'm sure David and the other myhobbystore staff would be only too willing to sell you some advertising space, they have adverts for other mags such as MEB so why not yours?

Interesting to see mention of Rachman. A few months ago I had reason to mention his name and nobody in my audience had heard of him. Realised I was the oldest in the group and the term Rachmanism has left the modern vocabulary.
Anyway back on topic whenever I see a new mag started up I think of the strain on the trade who are lumbered with another advertising bill in a market that has not grown but has in fact had thousands of pounds diverted from their ptoential customers into the magazine's subscription.

I hope that not too many mugs rush to buy yet another new me - type mag at he expense of ME/MEW, after all ,if sales dip too much they could, just could follow Myfords and we dont really want that, do we?
Dont laugh - I did a "what if?" on Myfords 5 years ago and started collecting all the Myford bits that I thought I might want in the future. I envisaged likliest scenario would be them going bust like we keep reading about the rest of engineering in UK. Ageing owners sell out to someone who cocks it all up and it still goes down the pan. Flogged off to someone who takes the whole outfit to the Far East and down-market.
I`ve got most Myford bits I wanted so I`m laughing.

Tell you what. When (if) you get a reply with more tangible details other than an email address, let us know. That'll save everyone else having to repeat the exercise and them write multiple replies. Meanwhile, who are you?
