I bought one of these mills second hand. A fairly new machine which I've been using for 4 weeks.I must add it's a nice machine compaired to my old X2 mill.
The fitted DRO is an Easson ES-14, two axis. In the last week the consol has worked on and off , in the last two days the unit has failed to boot at all. It starts it's cycle but fails to complete. I've read the manual, and spoken to Warco who sent me another copy of the manual. The engineer I spoke to sounded helpful, but it seems that they havn't experienced this type of failure before. There's no reset on the consol and I'm 99% the error lies there rather than in the sensors on the x-y axis, Can anybody sugguest a proceedure to get this unit back on line, other than the obvious of sending the unit to Warco. BTW the manual which is quite extensive and has an improved version of Chingelish doesnt have section coving errors.

Some computer integrated circuit boards used to have the reset/reboot button on the board itself and not connected up via wires.

There would be like 3 pins on the board and a connector across two of them.
If things went awry you could reset by moving the connector across and connecting pin 2 and 3 (instead of 1 and 2) then switching on, and-off-again a few seconds later.

If all else fails it might be worth opening it up and having a peer about with a bright torch.

Some boards can actually have some quite useful narrative on them and will say something like reset or rst or even have a row of dip switches.

I've tried most things with this DRO. Warco to their credit sent me some instructions on how to do a complete reset, but as the boot-up section fails to complete I cannot use it. I've opened up the box and everything smells OK, and there are no signs of damage to the boards . Unfortunately there is no means of giving it a hard set-set. I have emailed Easson Europe this afternoon, hoping they will perhaps do a service exchange. If I get a postive responce I'll post again. I miss my DRO )

Just a follow up
a replacement Consol for my Easson 2 axis DRO was quoted as £280 from Warco.
I contacted Machine -DRO to see if their budget DRO would fit. They said it would provided the pin outs for the scales were changed, which they did for me, I now have a lovely DRO with more features, for £139 including VAT. I must add their service was superb.

I have to agree with Richard regarding support from Machine-DRO. I have been enquiring about replacing the console on my Ajax mill and compatibility with the existing Mitutoyo scales and the level of service is far above what ou would normally expect. These guys are genuinely interested in helping you achieve the best solution
