After 25 years my Myford Super 7 motor, resilient mountings, need replacing. It's a GEC BC 2511 motor, Myford say they only have them for Brook Crompton, what is the difference ? I have searched online but can not find a supplier. Does anyone know where I may be able to get them ? Ironically I live less than a mile from where GEC Small Machines used to be.

I have one spare if you are interested. Not been run much, I upgraded to a 3 phase motor. Not sure of make but came originally from Myford.
£75 + £15 postage. Comes with proper socket and lead.

Hi.

If you only need the resilient mounting parts, it might be worth checking if there are any electric motor repairers / rewinders or similar concerns in your area and asking them.

Hello David

Thanks for your reply, but it's only the rubber mountings I need.

Up until the last big earthquake in Christchurch, I had a tame rubber manufacurer who, if I made a suitable mold would make any artical like that. We were making molds for rubber components for war time Willys Jeeps, but the workshop is in the cordoned off area, I must see if I can get them back. The boss there estimated the value at Between $NZ1000 and $NZ2500, but all they cost me was a few hours on the lathe and mill. You may have a hard job finding such a low tech manufacturer anywhere, well perhaps in some 3rd world country. But an ideal place for small production runs. Ian S C
