I have bought a Mk1 Clarkson Tool & Cutter Grinder which is missing the centres.
As it seems unlikley that I will be able to find any (hope I am wrong!) it has been suggested that centres from the Stent T&C grinder will do which are available as castings for £10 each from Blackgates.

Does anyone know that the finished height of the Stent centres are? The originals were 5/8" ID, 3-3/16" centre height.

Thanks Peter

Hi There
Stent ones would do even if you have to use packing blocks under them.
regards david

Peter,
My Stent ones have a centre height of approx 2.1 in. I can't find my drawings to see what the design height is. The centres are .5 in dia but the casting would bore to .625 if needed.
Cheers
John

Thanks John.

So it looks like the Stent ones would need substantial packing blocks but still feasible. Perhaps the height is not too critical, havent got the machine ready to run yet so dont really know. Wont order anything from Blackgates just yet in case something original turns up!

Cheers Peter

Peter, centres of various origins appear on Fleabay at fairly regular intervals.
