13 forum posts | Have a few grease nipples that I need to use on a project I'm building but can't recognise the threads or get an accurate TPI. They're tapered max dia 1/4". Got BSF/Whit/UNC/UNF/BA/BSP/Metric taps but nothing fits. Anyone know what the thread is or where I can get some replacement nipples with a thread size for one on the taps I have? |

263 forum posts | Grease nipples are made with a variety of threads, depending where and when the bits to fit them to were made, but the most common ones are BSP or metric. These are a bit pricey but at least you will have enough to last a lifetime I bought some about a year ago, I only needed half a dozen. At one time you could go to your local motor factor and get them, I tried them all around my place, even Halfords, but it seems they run out years ago as most things now are sealed for life, but your local engineering supplier or farming supplies should be able to help you out, but most do have a minimum order. I finished up buying metric ones. I hope this puts you on the right trail. Bogs |

13 forum posts | Thanks to everyone who replied. Have found a place locally to me who has a variety and who will sell me the 4 I want (didn't really want to send for an assortment from RDG or similar) and with a thread that I have a tap for. |
