829 forum posts 1 photos | OK, I see. I was talking about the current digital issues. You're looking at the archive subscription and I see the same as you do there. Currently, the current digital issues run from 146 to 166 and that appears to be OK. The archive subscription should, then, run from 1 to 145 which it does - but for some reason it has issues 163, 165 and 166 tacked on (but not 164). Odd thing to happen on this, normally very stable, website ![]() |

829 forum posts 1 photos | John (Swift) I've noticed that I can always edit my posts if I do so immediately after posting but after a while I'm no longer able to edit them. I don't know if there's a set time that is allowed for editing or whether it cuts off once someone else has added to the thread (the latter would be logical, I guess). Some suggest it depends whether or not you log off between edits but I stay logged in all the time. |

![]() 318 forum posts 183 photos | Hi Sid ,
I think you have answered my intermittent ability to edit my posts
I will have to look into why I can only see one of John Stevenson's JPEG images another day
at the moment I have an old minilathe in kit form
having first repaired the speed control pcb ,and before I use the lathe for the first time
I have removed the old spindle bearings and have fitted the first of two new roller bearings
You will know when things have not gone to plan as this will be the subject of my first thread

512 forum posts 77 photos | Re the jpgs posted by John Stevenson (or rather tried to post): If you have a look at the URLs (hovering your mouse pointer over the area where the pics are or are missing you will see them): again a case that d@%& automatic addition of a nonsense string to the URL. Whereas the correct one starts with http://image.photobucket. etc, the invisible ones are expected to be in http://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/[IMG]http://img.photobucket.com.....etc. what, as you surely will agree with me, is totally wrong. Now if the powers that be would give an explanation how this can be avoided. I am a member in several forums, but in no other one I've seen such a mess happening. Well I better stop here, or I'm getting angry Hansrudolf

![]() 5068 forum posts 3 photos | I have noticed this addition of the home page string before on here. You have to do a bit of cut and paste, bit like a one armed paper hanger ? John S. |
