Might not be the answer you want, but can you not use 5BA, which is 0.126" diameter?

I use them for 1 1/2" screws at 1/12 scale.

I have checked all the usual suppliers and they all appear to stock only BA hex.headed screws. Personally, I have never seen ME screws advertised.   A 5BA screw has 3/16in across the flats hexagon head. This is obtainable in steel and brass of course,  so you may have to resort to making your own, or as suggested, use 5BA screws.  T.O

If GLR still supply Hex rod, you COULD roll your own.
