I see that there are a number of tool and equipment suppliers listed as shopping partners.

Is it possible that one or more of you could get our Chinese friends/manufacturers to produce a set of slip gauges for us, the 'home machinist'?
These are so useful in many situations other than checking a keyway but the price is out of reach for most of us and far to accurate to be sensible in the home workshop.
They do not need to be ground and lapped to 1/100,000", They do not need to stick together.  We only need them accurate to a tenth, hardened and polished.  This would, I am sure enable a set to be produced for something in the range of £25.

Your comments please, after all if you don't ask you don't get.

cheers

Hi Ray,
Have you checked out the latest "flyer" from J&L, They have on page 30, sets starting at £24.95+VAT + P&P. If you want calibrated ones the price triples, but you did ask for basic.

Hi Ray,
Chronos do an 81 piece Imperial set and a 87 piece Metric set at fairly reasonable prices depending on certification. Ebay is also a fairly fruitful source for this type of thing.

Thanks for quick replies. I had forgotten Chronos. I have to show my ignorance and show myself up but who are J&L?. Ifeel as though I ought to know them.
